Wearability is whether a full day reminds you the object is there, and whether you can use it without unlocking a phone. Intelligence is whether the thing you invoked can act — summaries, connectors, an agent — not only a recap of a file. Those are two notes. They are not a third published crown. A separate operability axis is how a ranking starts handing four first-places to a ring that cannot hear a table.
Vocci’s product pages are the split in public, and they still belong on two axes. The ring is 3–5 g of titanium, 2.85 mm, IP67, so wearability can sit at the top of the scale, including a long press on the band that speaks a command with one hand. The same long press turns notes into Notion, Slack, Claude, Codex or an MCP client (Vocci; Vocci membership). That is intelligence. A steel Index 01 is still a ring you forget, and still something you operate with a finger — dictation on the band, not an agent with connectors. Same form factor, different intelligence note.
Cards record nearby and think in a pocket
The Plaud Note Pro is the best microphone array on this desk. A button on a MagSafe card starts a recording. Summaries, templates and anything that looks like an assistant still require the Plaud app. Capture is in the room. Intelligence is in a pocket you have to unlock. Wearability is a carry score. Bee’s Pioneer listens all day from a clip, and Amazon’s own write-up puts Voice Notes, Actions and Daily Insights on the phone (About Amazon; bee.computer). Always-on is not the same as one-handed invoke, and it is not a reason to invent an eighth axis.
Humane’s AI Pin is the historical counterexample: touch to talk, LTE, no phone at all. That belongs in the intelligence note on hardware that no longer functions. It does not get to launder a brick through a 10.
Why the notes have to name both
If invoke never appears in wearability, a 5 g ring you can hold and a 5 g ring you can only record fight over “I forgot it” and lose the sentence shoppers need: can I use it with two fingers. If it becomes its own axis, the ring collects a fourth win for the same gesture already scored on wearability and intelligence. Methodology keeps capture first. A ring that cannot hear a table does not get to launder that failure through a long press.
