The Vocci Ring answers a question most of this category ducks: what do you wear when you do not want to be seen wearing anything? A pendant announces itself. A pin on your collar is the first thing anyone notices. A ring is the only form factor here that people already wear without comment, and the whole device is built around defending that.
What it is
A titanium ring, 6.8 mm wide and 2.85 mm thick, weighing between 3 and 5 g depending on size. Inside are a single MEMS microphone, a haptic motor, an RGB indicator and a button. Double-tap to start recording, single-click to mark a highlight, double-tap again to stop. A long press speaks a command to a standalone agent instead of capturing the room — that is the product, not a summary screen in an app. Vocci’s site puts the gesture in the loop: double-tap to record, transcribe, then long-press to send notes, contacts or summaries into Claude, Notion, Codex or whoever needs them. Membership meters “Vocci AI Agent” uses (30 / 150 / 300 a month on Starter / Plus / Pro). It is rated IP67 and charges magnetically in a case that holds three further charges.
Everything else happens elsewhere. The ring stores audio locally when your phone is out of range and syncs later over BLE 5.4; transcription, summarisation and the agent run in the cloud. Vocci’s Starter plan transcribes 300 minutes a month. Plus is $15.99/mo, or $119.99/year, at 1,200 minutes — the same shape as Plaud Pro, and the plan this page encodes as the optional paid SKU, not as a requirement to use the ring. Pro is $29.99/mo, or $239.99/year, for unlimited transcription. Recording continues if you run out; transcription does not.
Living with it
The eight-hour continuous recording figure is the one to plan around, and it is honest for a device this size — there is very little room for a battery inside a 2.85 mm band. Two days of regular use assumes you are not recording most of it. Fast charging recovers 80% in half an hour, which in practice means it charges while you shower rather than overnight.
The single microphone is the compromise, and it is not a small one. Against the four-microphone beamforming array in the Plaud Note Pro — which costs $60 less — the Vocci Ring is straightforwardly outgunned in a meeting room. The 5 m pickup claim holds for a quiet table. It does not hold for the far end of a conference room, and a hand that gestures while its owner talks is a moving microphone in a way a device clipped to a lapel is not.
What you get back for that is the thing no other device here offers on the body: you will actually wear it, and you can invoke the agent with two fingers. A recorder that stays in a drawer captures nothing at all. An assistant that lives in a phone app is an assistant you do not have when both hands are busy.
Who it is for
People who want capture to disappear into something they already wear, and who want to turn a conversation into an action without fishing out a phone. If you spend your days in meeting rooms with six people around a table, the Plaud Note Pro will hear them better for less money. If the job is one-to-one talk plus an agent you can hold, this is the device that actually does that.
