The wearable microphone story at CES 2026 is rings. Engadget’s Daniel Cooper filed from the floor on the Vocci Ring: a titanium band, one button, up to eight hours of recording, double-click to start and stop a session, single-click to mark a highlight, claimed 5 m pickup, shipping aimed at a February preorder window (Engadget, 5 January 2026). Cooper did not hear a sample or see a working demo of the far-field claim.
That last clause is the filing. A ring that can hold a meeting table is a different product from Pebble’s 5–20 cm Index 01 and from Sandbar’s whisper-at-the-hand Stream Ring. It is also a harder physics problem. A microphone on a gesturing hand is not a card on a table. Until someone publishes a recording, 5 m is a manufacturer sentence.
Vocci’s other public claims in that piece: a charging case, and about thirty minutes to full. Price was not in Engadget’s copy. This desk will not invent one. The Index 01 is still a $75 preorder with a disposable cell. Stream is still $249 and unshipped.
Rings will be sold as the civilised alternative to pendants after Limitless left the market last month. Some of them will be dictation jewellery. Some will claim rooms. The Vocci Ring page waits on a specification table and a unit that can be worn, which is not the same as a booth.
